The Blackbird Sings

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR PAINTING ON LINEN

43cm x 32.7cm x 4.1 cm
(17” x 12.8” x 4.1”)
2024

Moody and introspective, The Blackbird Sings is all about capturing the drama of a windswept day. I used black sea coal from Scotland to create a sense of movement and energy. It's a reminder that even the smallest creatures can make their presence felt and that sometimes all it takes is a little bit of wind to change everything.

“An English Spring” Collection

As the seasons awaken, so do our senses. This collection of original watercolour paintings captures the natural world as it awakens from its winter slumber. Each piece invites you to slow down and appreciate the beauty in your surroundings, focusing on the intricate details of nature that often go unnoticed.

In an era of constant distraction, this collection reminds us of the importance of being present. By reconnecting with nature, we can rediscover a sense of calm, clarity, and connection to the world around us.

Painting & Delivery Details

Material: Painted using handmade watercolours onto natural linen canvas, this is an original artwork finished with a UV-protective matte varnish. The painting is framed in a bespoke solid oak and stained with a gentle linseed oil to enhance the wood's natural grain.

Signature: Signed on the reverse.

Certificate: Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Your painting will be carefully packaged and shipped via courier directly from my studio. You have the option to collect the artwork directly from my studio in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Collection Insights:

This collection is a reflection of my journey to appreciate the beauty in everyday moments. As I explored the English countryside during springtime, I was struck by the simplicity and ease of nature's rhythms. These paintings aim to capture that feeling, to share it with others, and to inspire a sense of mindfulness and gratitude.
