This painting was made using hand-ground pigments collected from two cherished places: Meon in Hampshire, and Kintra – a tiny 15-person settlement on the Isle of Mull. It features a rare blue clay and white chalk, all foraged and transformed into natural watercolour in my studio.

  • Earth pigments are natural colours sourced directly from the land—clays, chalks, soils, stones, and minerals. I collect these materials on my walks in nature, then carefully grind and bind them by hand into watercolour paint. Each colour tells a story of place and presence.
